A Busy Few Months…

January 20th, 2010

Hey folks,

Wow what happened to 2009?

The other night I was watching the original TV series of Life on Mars. If you’re not familiar with it it’s about a guy that goes back 1973. It got me thinking about what I did in 1973. The only thing I can recall in any great detail was my very first day at school. My mother told me it would be fun. She lied.

Anyway my point is I hope that your 2009 was significant and memorable in some way and hope that your 2010 is even better.

For me 2009 was huge and I think that’s why it went so fast. In the last five months we have spent time in seven countries not including home here in Australia.

In August / September we had the opportunity to share ideas with some pretty savvy internet marketing people in San Diego. That was very cool.

We also formed a mastermind group with similar business owners from the United States, Germany, Spain, Hong Kong and the Philippines. Another cool thing was we finally took ownership of some very heavy duty software that helps us deliver clients awesome results. (I’ll tell you more about the software later).

We’ve only just returned from a marathon journey that was extreme to say the least. We camped and rode camels in the Sahara Desert. We stayed in stunningly beautiful hotels in Paris, London, Casablanca and even a 500 year old riad in Fez (Morocco).

Highlights of the trip from a work perspective?

Watching the shop keepers in action in Fez and Marrakech.

Seriously, these guys are brilliant. If anyone wanted to learn how to make the jump from good salesman to great salesman you could do it in a few hours by watching these guys in action.

The other highlight was spending time with Paul & Adelle our IT and design gurus in London. It’s nice to know that we have the expertise to offer clients everything from marketing to technical things like I-Phone apps to database management.

So yes 2009 was busy and full of memories and if everything goes according to plan 2010 should be even better for us and our wonderful friends.

Hello and Welcome!

June 3rd, 2009

.

You know it’s a funny thing when you want to write to someone. You have so much to say, so much you want to share and yet when it’s time to put per to paper or fingers to keyboard you go totally blank. What’s with that?

Well that’s exactly the space I’m in at the moment.

Because this is the first blog entry for Direct Results Media I want to make it special, something really cool that will hopefully get you to come back and read our next blog posting. And it’s not like I don’t have much to write about because there’s a lot I’m going to share with you about how to use the internet to get you more business.

But this is different. You only get one chance to do things for the first time once.

Maybe this will something totally self indulgent and all about me. But that goes against the basics of marketing which say it’s all about you the reader because you’re mostly interested in what’s in it for you.

So, please indulge me and let me say a big “thank you”. Thank you to everyone involved with DRM, clients, family and loved ones. And thank you to the big bloke upstairs that I’m able to do something that I love each and every day.

Cool, so back to you…

Have you read our report “7 Sneaky Tips to Attract Local Customers from the Internet”?

If you haven’t you should. I haven’t held much back and if you use the info in the report you’ll get more local customers form the internet. If you have read the report and have any questions let me know and I’d love to help out. We want to hear your success stories too.

So why are we pushing the report?

Two reasons. The first is because we believe small business owners are heroes and this is our way to help them.

For instance, small business owners employ the majority of Australians. Small business owners have to abide by ridiculous rules handed down by bloated government departments staffed by people who have never had to generate a sale or make a payroll in their entire sheltered careers. Small business owners risk everything including the family home in order to be in business.

Plus small business owners willingly walk onto the battlefield underprepared and outgunned with less than 1 in 10 surviving past the 5 year mark. Are they heroes? You bet they are.

The second reason is a lesson in marketing and something you can use for your own business.

We wanted to create a report that contained usable and valuable content so that people who read and implemented the strategies in the report would make more money. And, if they did make more money there’s a good chance they’ll refer back to us when they want to get even more customers from the internet and take their business to a higher level. Another benefit from writing a valuable report is that people will share it with their friends and colleagues which means more potential business for DRM.

We hope you make more money in your business and if you do then you’ll share it with friends etc…

So how can you do something like this for your business?

Easy and I’ll show you different ways you can use reports, coupons etc to attract more customers from the internet in the next few days.

Stay happy:)
